The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Huron Perth has dropped substantially.
New data from Huron Perth Public Health released on Monday afternoon shows there are eight active cases in the region, down from 17 on Friday.
HPPH says four new active cases added were all asymptomatic health care workers that were discovered through surveillance testing.
They say the workers went into isolation immediately and that further public health investigation revealed low likelihood of active infection.
Repeat testing was initiated and the investigation is still pending.
Three of these cases are in Perth County, while one is in Huron County.
There are no outbreaks at any long-term care facilities in the region.
There have been a total of 120 confirmed cases and the death toll remains at 5.
