Caledon resident charged in fatal collision in North Perth

A 53-year-old Caledon resident has been charged in a collision that claimed the life of one person.

Perth County OPP were called to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Perth Road 140 and Perth Line 91 in North Perth on August 10th.

The collision between a tractor trailer and a SUV took place around 6 o’clock at night with the three occupants in the SUV seriously injured.

A passenger in the SUV, a 55-year-old Caledon woman, was pronounced dead at scene, and the other two occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer wasn’t injured.

Police say they’ve determined the tractor trailer, which was hauling fuel, had been travelling westbound when it struck the SUV, which had been travelling northbound.

The intersection is controlled by a stop sign in the north and south directions.

The accused has a future court appearance scheduled in Stratford.
