Tavistock will soon be home to more long-term care beds.
It comes after Ontario announced another 128 long-term care beds are coming to the area.
Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman says peopleCare Tavistock has been approved for the upgrade of 100 existing spaces and the development of 28 new spaces.
Combined, it will create a new 128 bed home in Tavistock under the Campus of Care.
Hardeman says the funding came through the 2020 Ontario budget.
Officials say they hope the new facility will open in 2022 or 2023.
