Festival performances getting film treatment

It’s lights, camera, action for the Stratford Festival.

Performances of King Lear, King John, and Antony and Cleopatra are going to be filmed for international release and broadcast.

The plays are the first to be part of the Festival’s new film project first announced this past March.

The goal is to record three productions each season, working towards committing all of Shakespeare’s plays to film.

King Lear will be released in February, King John hits screens in April, and Antony and Cleopatra follows in May.
