Embro Highland Games cancelled for second straight year because of pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has lead to another long running local event being cancelled for the second year in a row.

The Zorra Caledonian Society says it’s made the difficult decision to cancel the 84th Embro Highland Games scheduled for Canada Day.

They say they unanimously agreed that their responsibility is to offer an event that’s safe for all by complying to all health protocols during these unprecedented times.

Officials say they are closely monitoring COVID-19 restrictions in the area and are planning some special events to celebrate the games on July First.
