Huron Perth’s Medical Officer of Health is urging everyone not to be complacent with another long weekend on the horizon.
While 47.2 per cent of adults in Huron Perth have now received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, Dr. Miriam Klassen says we aren’t out of the woods yet and things could easily spiral into a spike of cases again.
She says we are getting close to the end but we aren’t there yet and she says everyone needs to keep following the rules.
“I continue to hear there was a birthday party, there was a barbeque, there was a potluck, public health measures weren’t followed, these are all preventable cases that are prolonging the pandemic for us all.”
Dr.Klassen adds she’s hopeful more outdoor activities will be allowed this summer with vaccinations continuing which will lead to more indoor activities being given the green light in the fall.
