Stratford Festival showing off new Tom Patterson Theatre

We are set to get our first look inside the Stratford Festival’s brand new Tom Patterson Theatre.

The $70 million theatre will be shown off in a four-part documentary series with the first debuting tonight (Thursday) during a live viewing party on the festival’s YouTube channel.

The theatre was originally scheduled to open to the public at a ceremony on June 11th last year, marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Stratford Festival founder Tom Patterson, but that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ann Swerdfager is the Publicity Director at the festival and she says people are going to love everything the theatre has to offer.

“They’ve done so much work to make it a perfect auditorium so that people will remember and feel like they are in the old TPT but in the comforts of a very modern and gorgeous building.”

The viewing party marks Patterson’s 101st birthday.

You can click here to go to the festival’s YouTube channel.

Thursday night’s event starting at 7:00 p.m.
