Two Labour Day weekend events cancelled over safety concerns

Two popular events in Stratford planned for the Labour Day weekend have been cancelled over health concerns.

The Kinsmen Club of Stratford was planning to hold its Family Fun Day and Fireworks, along with its car show at Lower Queen’s Park, on Sunday, September 5th.

However, after consulting with the City of Stratford and Huron Perth Public Health, the club decided to cancel both of the events due to concerns over the potential spread of COVID-19.

Doug Young is a director with the club and he says the decision was the best one to make for everyone involved.

“Our community events are very important activities for the community and it is very difficult to shut them down, however we are working with the city and the health unit on future events.”

Among the future events the club is working on holding is the annual Parade of Lights in November.
