Lakeside man charged after fatal collision near Thamesford

A 35-year-old Lakeside man has been charged after a fatal collision involving a golf cart near Thamesford.

First responders were called out to the crash on 15th Line around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon.

Oxford County OPP says a vehicle struck a golf cart that a woman and two small children were traveling in with the vehicle then fleeing the scene.

The 60-year-old woman from Thamesford who was driving the golf cart was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died.

The children were treated for minor injuries.

Police say the suspect’s vehicle was later found and a male suspect was arrested and charged with Fail to Stop at Accident Resulting in Death.
