A 64-year-old man charged in a historical sexual assault case will be back in court next month.
Robert Ritchie appeared in court in Stratford on Monday over the telephone and said he needs to hire a legal representative and go over the information in the case.
Police say Ritchie was arrested in October and charged with Indecent Assault Male and Sexual Assault.
From 1980 to 1985, Stratford Police allege Ritchie would seclude himself in a private place at the YMCA in the city where he was a lifeguard and he would sexually assault the victim.
Investigators say the abuse began when the victim was seven years old and ended at the age of 11.
The victim came forward to the police in May.
Ritchie is scheduled to be back in court on December 29th at 11 a.m.
