UTRCA urging you to be cautious near waterways with heavy rain on the way

You’re being reminded to stay away from waterways this weekend.
A strong cold front is making its way through southern Ontario and bringing rain and strong winds to the Upper Thames watershed, beginning Friday night and continuing into Saturday night.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement predicting 25 to 45 millimeters of heavy rain.
The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority says you should be extremely cautious near all watercourses.
Stream banks can be slippery and unstable and the water may quickly become fast-moving and higher than normal.
Parents are also being reminded to keep children and pets away from watercourses.
