More options for childcare on the way for Listowel

Perth-Wellington MPP Mathew Rae says the Avon Maitland District School Board has been given the approval for more provincial funding for an addition at Listowel Eastdale Public School.

The additional $2.1 million brings the total funding awarded to over $6.4 million.

When completed, the centre will provide three additional child care rooms, 98 new pupil spaces, and 49 licensed child care spaces.

AMDSB officials say the additional funding means they can move forward with hiring a company to build the addition.

Before a tender can be sent out, the province will do one final review.

It’s expected that it will be done in the next few months.
