Over 500 of the top figure skaters in Ontario are set to show off their skills in Stratford.
The Skate Ontario Provincial Figure Skating Championships are taking place this weekend at the Stratford Rotary Complex.
It’s the first time the event is being held locally and Kevin Winter, Chair of the organizing committee, says it’s the culmination of a lot of the skater’s seasons.
Events will include all figure skating disciplines of men’s and women’s singles, dance, pair, and synchronized skating.
All skaters who will be competing have qualified through a series of provincial events that have been held throughout Ontario since November 2022.
Top scores from all skaters were tracked, with the top skaters invited to come to Stratford to compete in these Provincial Championships.
It gets started on Friday and runs through Sunday.
