Be prepared for a jump at the gas pumps.
Canadians for Affordable Energy President Dan McTeague says gas prices across most of Ontario rose eight cents on average on Wednesday as stations switch from their winter gasoline blend to their summer.
He says the components that go into making the summer gas are what makes it so expensive and it means we will see prices around $1.65 a litre.
McTeague says it’s been a while since we saw prices this high.
“We haven’t seen prices in the $1.65 range across the province in pretty much every community since November 15th, so it’s been a good five months.”
McTeague adds as the struggle continues between supply and demand we could see gas prices rise to $1.80 a litre around the May long weekend.
