Stratford’s Grand Trunk building opening for tours

Stratford’s former Grand Trunk building is opening up to the public for one day only.

Residents in the city will have the opportunity to tour the vacant industrial building that once housed locomotive repair shops between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 14th.

The building’s roof deck was recently removed and its original steel trusses restored, making it safe for tours to be allowed in portions of the structure.

Stratford Mayor Martin Ritsma says visitors will get the chance to think about the possibilities the site could hold for the future.

“They will be able to get to the second-floor mezzanine which gives you a perspective like none other.”

You can find out more at the City of Stratford’s website.
