2SLGBTQ+ Community Conversations

Avondale United Church is taking steps within its status as an Affirming Church  by partnering with the Stratford Pride Community Centre (SPCC), and Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays + (PFLAG Stratford), in bringing  2SLGBTQIA+ issues and dialogue to the forefront through  Community Conversations. This event will feature education around current terminology, a panel of people with 2SLGBTQIA+ lived experiences answering audience-led questions, and time for audience members to connect with local resources. This unique series comprises two parts. The first of which is an in-person session on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, moderated by Avondale’s fantastic Reverend, Keith Reynolds from 7-9PM. One week later, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, the online session (via Zoom) will be moderated by SPCC’s own Executive Director, Heather McDowell. Both events require pre-registration.        

If you or someone you know would like to attend either of these 2SLGBTQIA+ Community Conversations, please email [email protected] on or before January 3, 2024 for the in-person conversation and January 10, 2024 for the virtual conversation.  Avondale United Church, the Stratford Pride Community Centre, and PFLAG Stratford are united in purpose; if one person can have their levels of understanding lengthened by both of these conversations,  it will have been worth it.
