Celebrate inspiring women at this International Women’s Day event

Celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) with like-minded individuals in Stratford.

On Saturday (March 8), Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Stratford are hosting an International Women’s Day Breakfast at the Arden Park Hotel.

The morning will include a key note speaker and panel discussion of the theme “Breaking Barriers – Stories of Progress”. 

CFUW Stratford is a group that is part of national and international group of women which focuses on advocacy of women’s issues and scholarship funding for women.

The keynote speaker at the breakfast will be Halyna Padalko, a Ukrainian multidisciplinary researcher, specializing in strategic communication, propaganda, disinformation, and the application of AI tools in these domains.

The address will see Padalko tell three inspiring tories about female friends of hers and what they are doing in the face of war in their country.

Wendy McNaughton from CFUW, says Padalko’s address is not to be missed.

“They’re very extraordinary stories and I think people will be very interested to hear them.”

After the keynote speech, there will be a panel comprised of Padalko, Mary Hofstetter, an accomplished educator in the arts sector and Pamela Jeffery, a founder of multiple female centred organizations and projects.

The panel will be moderated by CFUW’s Deanna Horton. 

Cambria Ravenhill from the federation says this stacked panel is sure to be inspiring to all.

“This is sort of the power panel. They’re just an awesome group of women.”

Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for coffee, followed by a buffet breakfast at 9 a.m.

The programming begins at 9:45 a.m.

Everyone is welcome and the last day to purchase tickets is Wednesday (March 5).

Individual tickets are $45 each or you can get a sponsored table for $400 which includes 8 tickets and a reserved table.
