The O’Pears Folk Concert at Avondale United Church, Stratford ON

Start the Winter Holiday Season off in the world of Folk Music with a  concert by folk trio, The O’Pears, on Friday, December 8, 8PM at Avondale United Church, Stratford ON (194 Avondale Ave). 

The O’Pears are an Ontario based contemporary folk trio made up of Lydia Persaud, Jill Harris, and Meg Contini; three songwriters who weave stories that stir the spirit and capture the timeless character of folk music. With beautifully blended harmonies, insightful songwriting, and a playful love of performing, they make perfectly balanced vocal performances look effortless (borrowed from their official bio). They have released three amazing albums; Our Own (2013), Like Those Nights (2016), and Stay Warm (2018), all of which retain their own degrees of complexity, comfort, and insight. 

Doors to this cozy concert open at 7:30PM.  The event is open to all ages. 

“People in Stratford are lucky to have a lot of entertainment options,” states Paul Harris, member of the Avondale Annual Music Series Team.  “When we thought of a new concert series at Avondale, one of our goals was to offer something different. The O’Pears are a perfect fit. In their ten years together, they have showcased their unique and beautiful vocal harmonies across Canada, Europe and the United States. They have been feature performers at major folk festivals, and released several critically acclaimed CD’s. Their annual Christmas concert has taken place in different cities, but this year they are delighted to be at Avondale, especially since one of their members is from New Hamburg. It may be their first concert in Stratford, but it will feel like playing close to home.”
