Amelia Appel is a brave young girl in our community who was diagnosed in November with a brain tumor known as a Germ Cell tumor.  After six rounds of chemo and two major brain surgeries, she is in Jacksonville, Florida to receive 8 weeks of specialized proton radiation therapy at the University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute – a vital treatment not available in Canada.
