Join us for a Cultural Pop-Up Event: History Alive.
Saturday July 19th, 2025
10am-12pm

A free event showcasing the history and heritage of Stratford with guided tours, children’s activities, community booths, documentary shorts and live music!

Community Booths (10am-12pm):
•Museum of Ontario Archeology
•Upper Thames River Conservation Authority
•Stratford-Perth Archives
•Kaswentha/Two Row Now
•City of Stratford
•Free face painting
•Perth County Players (as well as historical actors in the square)

Historical Guided Walking Tours (departing Market Square at 10am and 11am):
•Led by Stratford Walking Tours – 2 times 10am-10:45am or 11am-11:45am
Pre-registration required. Attendees can sign up at the City of Stratford tent, first-come, first-serve
•1.5km total – 45 minutes

To register for a free guided walking tour, please visit Stratford Walking Tours. Limited spaces available. On this tour, you will learn about the people, places and events that shaped the history of Stratford. The tour is approximately 45 minutes in duration and covers a distance of 1.5 km. The route is along public sidewalks and streets and can be considered an easy level of physical effort. It traverses a few gentle hills and stairs, but should you have mobility concerns please let us know and we can easily create an accessible route. This tour starts and ends at City Hall. Tours take place rain or shine and will only be cancelled in the event of extreme weather (as issued by Environment Canada).

Documentary Shorts (showings at 10am & 11am in City Hall Auditorium):
•Presented by the Stratford & District Historical Society
•All shorts will be shown, followed by Q&A

•Open door – come and go, guests are not required to stay for the whole hour and can join at any time.

*Lower level of City Hall is open during the event for washroom, elevator and water bottle refill station.
