Peacefully at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton, on Monday, March 27, 2017 in his 100th year. Beloved husband of the late Edna Albrecht (2012). Loving father of Marlene Lichty (Mel), Gary Gerber, Betty Lou Gilchrist (Dale Wood), Ruth Anne Biehn (Elvern), and Jamie Gerber (Karen). Dear grandfather of Tim, Jeff and Jeremy Lichty, Matthew and Jonathon Gerber, Sheldon Gilchrist, Shelley Wright, Trevor and Jason Biehn, Josalyn Hagen, Vanessa Erb as well as 21 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his sisters-in law and brother-in law Laura Gerber, Katie Gerber, Ruby Roth and William Albrecht. Predeceased by his daughter Sandra (1981) and son Andrew (2000). Steve was the former Pastor at Crosshill Mennonite Church for 25 years and served as an interim pastor at McArthurs Mills, Cassel and St. Agatha Mennonite churches. Steve had farmed at RR#1 Millbank and enjoyed travelling with Edna. Friends may visit with the family at Crosshill Mennonite Church, 2537 Hutchinson Road, Crosshill on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 in the church at 2 p.m. Pastor Julie Ellison White officiating. Interment at Rush’s Cemetery, Wellesley. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Knollcrest Lodge or M.C.C. would be appreciated.
