Rhinovirus outbreak declared over at Stratford General Hospital

Things are back to normal at the Stratford General Hospital now that a Rhinovirus outbreak has been declared over.

Admissions and transfers in the hospital’s Inpatient Unit were temporarily stopped when the outbreak was declared on October 25th.

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance officials discovered patients were also testing positive for parainfluenza, another group of viruses that cause common respiratory infections.

Family and caregivers are allowed back in now that the outbreak is over.

You’re reminded to keep up-to-date with your flu and COVID-19 vaccines, wear a mask when needed, wash your hands often, and stay home if you are feeling sick.
