A Grade 9 student is the recipient of the 2023 Accessibility Award from the City of Stratford.
Nathaniel DeWeerd identified a need for more stop-gap ramps at businesses in the city in order to make them more accessible.
He got his Cadets group to build and paint 16 accessibility ramps that are now being used.
The Stratford Accessibility Advisory Committee hands out the award every year to a business or organization in Stratford that has worked to make its space or service more accessible for the community, or an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to improving accessibility and inclusivity.
