Graul, Doreen

Doreen Ida Catherine Graul, age 94, of Walkerton and formerly of Stratford passed away peacefully at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre on December 20, 2023. Born in Ellice Township, September 20, 1929, daughter of the late George and Katherine (Buuck) Debus.

She married Donald Graul at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church September 22, 1951. He predeceased her June 10, 1991. Loving mother of Larry (Linda) and Kevin (deceased April 17, 2018). Grandmother of Brad (Heather), Jeremy (Jamie), Greg (Abbie), Lisa and Daryl. Great grandmother of Ryan, Kyle, Evan, Brooklynn, Landon, Addison, Greyson and Cohen. Also survived by God children Jonathan and Mark Graul, sister-in-law Helen Graul and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by siblings Andrew Debus (Mabel), Norman Debus (Ruth), Marie Schade (Norman), Lorne, Edward and Edna in infancy.

Friends and relatives are invited to the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St. Stratford where visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, December 29, at 11 a.m. A reception will be held at the funeral home following the interment at Avondale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Zion Lutheran Church through the funeral home.
