You’re being warned about a scam making the rounds in Oxford County.
Officials say they received four notifications on Wednesday after residents had a fraudulent text message asking them to pay unpaid fines.
They add that the Ontario Court of Justice will never make phone calls or send texts demanding money or detailed personal information.
If you receive such a call or text, consider it a scam.
If you suspect that you or someone you know has been a victim of fraud, contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre or your local police detachment.
