Stratford Festival receives $250,000 in provincial funding

It’s a big boost for the Stratford Festival.

The Ontario government is investing $250,000 in the festival with the money coming from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming.

Officials say the funding will enhance performances and foster community engagement.

They add that it’s part of the government’s over-$20 million investment in 350 festivals and events this year made through our Experience Ontario and Marquee Event programs.

As both a cultural beacon and anchor for the local tourism industry, officials say the iconic Stratford Festival supports thousands of direct and indirect jobs and has an annual economic impact of nearly $300 million
