Expecting mothers can look forward to a day of relaxation and connection at a prenatal wellness retreat.
Organizers Rebecca Barras and Ashley Brose say this event is designed to support expecting mothers and promises a full day of enriching activities.
“We put them in connection with other moms in the same journey. And I think that’s the need everywhere you go,” says Brose.
The retreat features prenatal yoga, a baby massage class, a catered lunch, and exciting giveaways.
Barras says yoga is also proven to support and decrease maternal anxieties, relieve pelvic tension, and help to make more space in the pelvis for the baby to descend.
“When you’re feeling these anxieties or tensions throughout your pregnancy, you can use your breathing to bring you back to your calm,” she adds.
“And also, just to prepare you for your big day of labour and delivery.”
The prenatal yoga session, suitable for all trimesters and beginners, will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on August 16, at the Riverwalk Commons in St. Marys.
Registration for the retreat costs $130 and interested participants can sign up at loveupwellness.com.
Limited spots are available, accommodating only 10 to 15 participants to ensure an intimate and supportive environment.
