A Prince Edward Island native, from a lineage of storytellers and musicians, Shane Pendergast is the perfect headliner for Stratford Summer Music’s annual wrap-up show.
Fiddles and Food Trucks next month will welcome a folksinger, described as one of “Atlantic Canada’s finest folk troubadours.”
Stratford Summer Music said in a media release that Pendergrast brings the true essence of folk music to life.
Pendergast’s 2021 album Second Wind won the Contemporary Roots Album of the Year at the Music PEI Awards, and his live album The House Before the Bridge, was nominated for Roots/Traditional Recording of the Year at the 2023 East Coast Music Awards.
“After a busy summer of performances across PEI, I’m really looking forward to performing in Stratford for the first time,” he told MyStratfordNow.
“I’ll be ready to sing and play my heart out for the folks.”
Fiddles and Food Trucks is scheduled for Sept. 12, at 75 Kelly’s Lane, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Organizers said tickets are limited. They can be purchased here.
