GOJHL: Warriors drop a pair of games over the weekend

Vasily Serov tied the game in the third period and then scored the winner in overtime, leading host Port Colborne Sailors to a 3-2 win over Stratford Warriors on Saturday.

It was the second loss of the weekend for the Warriors, who dropped to 17-7-2-0, good enough for third place in the GOJHL standings behind St. Marys and LaSalle.

Dax Vader and Hudson Binder scored for Stratford.

The Warriors lost 3-1 on home ice to St. Catharines Falcons on Friday night. Dillon Atkinson, Ally Mostafe and Brendan Grenville scored for the Falcons.

Hunter Nagge had the only goal for Stratford.

Elsewhere in the GOJHL over the weekend, the St. Marys Lincolns shutout the Ayr Centennials 3-0 on Saturday. Hayden Barch, Ryan Hodkinson and Owen Voortman scored for the Lincolns.

Colby Booth picked up the shutout.

The Lincolns edged London Nationals 3-2 on Friday night. Ryan Cornfield, Lucas Spagnolo and Hodkinson each had a single. Connor Clark scored both goals for London.

Listowel Cyclones won both of their weekend games and sit in fourth place in the Western Conference.

The Cyclones beat Hamilton Kilty B’s 3-1 on Saturday behind goals from Harrison Meulensteen, Wylie Birkett and Cam McNevan.

Jonny Brooks scored for Hamilton.

Listowel won 4-1 over Caledonia Corvairs on Friday. Chris O’Flaherty scored twice. Colton Henderson and Jordan Visneskie added singles.

Ethan Osborne scored for Caledonia.
