Local residents and concerned citizens from around the area are protesting on Monday the Ford government’s “underfunding and privatization of public health”.
Provincial pre-budget hearings are being held in Stratford at the Best Western Plus Arden Park Hotel, and a group of concerned citizens are gathered outside.
In a news release, the group said “healthcare in Ontario is in the worst crisis we have ever seen with services from primary care to home care in total disarray.”
Millions have lost family doctors, hospitals are in deficits and, and have the worst staffing crisis in our history, are actually cutting positions.
Pre-budget hearings have been called with little notice and publicity, they said.
Speakers are scheduled to address concerns at the site this morning.
