A police presence around the downtown core on Wednesday morning was due to Oxford OPP executing a warrant.
OPP arrested a 44-year-old male at a Downie Street residence without incident at 10 a.m.
Oxford OPP said the warrant was in relation to an ongoing investigation.
Police are not releasing the name of the accused, who is a Stratford resident.
Charges include assault with a weapon, break and enter into a dwelling house, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
No injuries were reported.
