Educational opportunities during first PD Day Camp of the year at Humane Society

The Humane Society of Stratford Perth’s first PD Day Camp of the year is on Friday.

Cree Toner from the local humane society said organizers have an interesting lineup of educational presentations for students ages six to 12.

Presenters include a dairy farm educator who will discuss making ice cream, there will be reptiles for kids to meet and another guest is bringing in hedgehogs and geckos.

“Some interesting pets that probably most of us don’t get to see that often,” said Toner.

The humane society is also hosting a Paws for Parents Date Night on Valentine’s Day, which will include a tour, creating Valentine’s gifts for animals, pizza and a movie.

A paint night is also coming up in February and the annual March Break camp is quickly approaching.

Toner said it’s a good idea to get kids signed up for the popular camp sooner rather than later.

“We are getting some really exciting presenters booked in as well as amazing animals in our own centre. It’s one of my favourite programs that we do throughout the year.”

Paws for Laughs is also returning, with the Stratford show scheduled for March 28 at Revival House.

“It’s a really fun night. You get to see some standup comedians, enjoy some food and some drinks and know that you are helping to support a really great cause through us at the shelter.”
