It promises to brighten up the dark days of winter.
Stratford Winter Film Festival (SWFF) returns for its second go-around, with 12 films over a four-day period.
Screenings will be held at different times across the city Feb. 14-17, at St. Andrew’s Church, St. James’ Church and city hall auditorium.
Craig Sangster, a director, explained the decision to come back for another year.
“It was a big decision for us, whether to proceed, we’ve had so much encouragement from year one, so we’ve basically been guilted into it, we have to do this.”
Some films being screened include The Lost Leonardo, The Year Dolly Parton was My Mom, Immediate Family and more.
And the variety of films shown will impress even the toughest film critic.
“We’re trying to appeal to a lot of people and we’re pretty certain that everyone is going to find something that becomes their next favourite movie for the next few months.”
And the purpose of the event is to bring entertainment to the community during the dreary winter months.
“Our feeling is the world has enough noise and ugliness these days, and we want to do something wholesome and heartening for Stratford and that’s really what SWFF is all about.”
