Here For Now Theatre raises $480K to renovate new performance space

Here for Now Theatre has announced a successful close to its capital campaign.

The local theatre said $480,000 in funding will support building a new micro-theatre performance space in the old registry office on St. Andrew Street in Stratford.

Local supporters helped raise funds and money came in through grant programs.

Artistic Director Fiona Mongillo announced on Wednesday that the theatre company is overwhelmed with the outpouring of generosity.

“It’s heartening to know so many people share our vision for an intimate performance space and the small-scale, accessible work it makes possible.”

Construction is continuing at the site and the theatre is expected to open this summer, just in time for Here for Now’s sixth season.

The space allows the organization to expand beyond just summer-only performances and ushers the company into a new chapter.
