L’Arche Stratford and project partner Feltz Design Build have announced that tenders are being accepted for the construction of a new community hub at 426 Britannia St.
This new 15,000-square-foot hub will provide eight new affordable living suites and represents a 25 per cent increase in affordable living suites for people with developmental disabilities.
It also creates capacity to welcome 26 new individuals who require social recreation support, reducing the waitlist by 56 per cent.
L’Arche Stratford said it anticipates construction to begin this spring.
Through fundraising efforts, 63 percent of its $6.5 million Be Belong Become capital campaign has been raised.
By reaching its goal, the organization would be able to remain mortgage-free and invest in the continued need for housing to support people with developmental disabilities in Huron-Perth.
Feltz Design Build will accept invited tenders until Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.
