The province’s Special Investigations Unit invoked its mandate on Monday after a collision north of Wingham, in Morris-Turnberry.
Huron OPP said a police officer was assisting a motorist on London Road, near Glennanon Road, at 1:20 p.m., when when a plow vehicle collided with the police vehicle and a stopped motorized snow vehicle.
Two people were taken to hospital. The officer was not injured.
OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team were investigating and provincial police notified the SIU.
Many parts of Ontario were walloped by heavy snow, strong winds and overall difficult conditions beginning last week and continuing over the Family Day weekend.
