Stratford News Rain and warmer temperatures make for dangerous waterways SHARE ON: Patrick Grapes, staff Monday, Jan. 13th, 2014 This past weekend’s rain and above zero temperatures has made for some dangerous waterways. The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is warning people to stay away from them. The organization is also reminding parents to keep their children and pets away as well. The Authority says the waterways in our area, including the Avon River, are at high levels. They’re expected to stay that way due to more rain in the forecast for tonight. The UTRCA is monitoring the situation. They’re also reminding people to stay off any ice that may be left as well.
