Cancer Care Wig Room-Knox Stratford has helped more than 1,000 clients navigate through a challenging time.
The organization is celebrating their 21st anniversary with a Mad Hatter’s Tea/Dance Party May 30th at Knox Banquet Hall at Copperlight.
Cathy Bachner said the Cancer Care Wig Room provides a sense of normalcy while people go through difficult cancer treatment and loss of hair. They offer free wigs, hats, scarves, shawls and head accessories.
“We have an atmosphere, a warmth and caring and thoughtfulness and compassion.”
Bachner said an experienced hairdresser and volunteers are the backbone along with “unwavering community support”, helping clients in Stratford, Listowel, St. Marys, Palmerston, Tavistock, Mitchell, and “everywhere in between.”
The anniversary tea party will feature three courses including sandwiches and desserts, and local musicians Upside of Maybe are scheduled to perform.
