St. Marys getting set for Stonetown Triathlon

Athletes ages eight to 19 are descending on St. Marys July 6 for the Stonetown Triathlon.

Organized by the Balance Point Triathlon Club, athletes will swim in the quarry, cycle the streets and run along the Thames River in a variety of race formats for newcomers and seasoned competitors.

Town of St. Marys Director of Community Services, Stephanie Ische, said they are happy to showcase the town, noting it’s a great experience for young athletes.

A number of roads will be closed in town to accommodate the triathlon and residents are asked to park on nearby side streets.

If you are interested in competing or volunteering, go to www.townofstmarys.com/triathlon to fill out the online application.
