A Listowel man’s work for the community has been recognized with a federal medal.
On Saturday afternoon, Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae awarded a King Charles III Coronation Medal to Vince Judge at the Listowel Agricultural Hall.
Judge received this award for his big contributions to Listowel and North Perth.
Contributions include serving as municipal councilor, reeve, mayor, and warden, volunteering on the Listowel-Wingham and Area Family Health Team board and Listowel Agricultural Society, and helping with activities of North Perth Seniors Group.
Said Rae: “It is people like Vince that make our communities stronger and more welcoming.
“To be one of only 30,000 recipients across all of Canada is truly a testament to Vince’s impact in North Perth, Ontario, and Canada.”
He added for someone to be eligible for this medal, they made either big contributions to Canada, Ontario, a region or community, or an achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
Judge said it was an honour recieving the medal and that he is humbled, “as I know there are so many others deserving of this prestigious award.”
