Stratford Symphony Orchestra preparing for its 21 season

Stratford Symphony Orchestra is getting set for a new season, starting with acclaimed cellist Vanny Hu in a performance Sept. 28 entitled Mystery and Memory.

Music Director William Rowson said the 21st season is all about connection, “to our community, world-class artists and the powerful stories that music can tell.”

“We can’t wait to share these incredible performances with our audiences.”

Other performances this year include Sitarski Plays Barber on Nov. 14.

Stephen Sitarski takes center stage with Barber’s lush Violin Concerto, in a “powerful evening of American masterpieces.

A full list of the season performances can be found here.

All performances are at Avondale United Church.

There are also special performances of Handel’s Messiah Dec. 13 and 14th. SSO partners with Stratford Concert Choir for a performance of Handel’s Messiah with a full orchestra and full choir.

SSO said the season showcases a “thrilling mix of classical favourites, contemporary gems, and exciting guest artists, offering something for every music lover.”
