Rae announces millions through Ontario Municipal Partnership Funding

Ontario Municipal Partnership Funding for next year was announced by Perth-Wellington  MPP Matthew Rae on Monday afternoon.

Included in the $10 million for local municipalities in the riding is $2.04 million for North  Perth, $1.18 million for West Perth, $1.37 million for Perth East, $490,000 for Perth South  and $673,000 for St. Marys.

The partnership is the province’s main general assistance grant to municipalities.

Rae said municipalities can use the money to address pressing local needs and the increased investment will provide municipalities with the support they need to build  communities and attract new investments.

Rae said there is funding increase of 7.5 per cent year-over-year, or $700,000, for Perth-Wellington and a total of $600 million in unconditional funding to 388 municipalities.
