Council approves replacement of William Allman Memorial Arena HVAC

Stratford City Council has unanimously approved the supply and installation of new HVAC units for the William Allman Memorial Arena.

The decision was made at Monday’s council meeting.

A report from Manager of Community Facilities Mark Hackett found that the current gas-fired units have reached the end of their service life and needed repairs over the past few years.

According to the report, these units will be replaced by heat-pump/hybrid heat ones to bring more energy efficiency and help the city reach their greenhouse gas emissions goals.

Councillor Jo-Dee Burbach said finding heat pumps for the units will help in moving towards a more eco-friendly option.

The installation will cost $186,000.
