69 charges laid in Perth County during Labour Day traffic campaign

More than 1,000 charges were laid by West Region OPP during the Labour Day long weekend.

Police say 69 charges were laid in Perth County, including 55 for speeding, three seatbelt, six impaired and five stunt driving charges.

Police say it was part of a traffic safety education and enforcement campaign focusing on aggressive driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted driving, and impaired driving, behaviours that are still big contributors to death, injury and property damage on Ontario roads and highways.
