PC Connect Service in St. Marys to end on New Years Eve

The St. Marys community will have one less option for transit as town council ends its partnership with PC Connect.

Town said council made the decision based on rising municipal costs and low ridership levels at local stops.

CAO/Deputy Clerk Brent Kittmer described this decision as a difficult one, adding staff has been directed to explore other options to address local transportation needs.

According to investStratford, PC Connect is an affordable and accessible service that provides transportation to Stratford, St. Marys, Kitchener/Waterloo and London, as well as connections to other services like GO Transit.

Stops for St. Marys include the town hall and memorial hospital.

The town said PC Connect helped provide transportation to the community for six years and received funding from municipal partners as well as the province. Provincial funding ended in 2025.

The town did apply for extra funding to continue the service, but no decision was received.

The service will end as of Dec. 31.
