Wilson, Malcolm

“All the better for seeing you”

Malcolm Howard Wilson died in the early hours of December 1, 2014 in Stratford, Ontario. He died exactly as he lived, with tremendous strength and great dignity.  A loving and devoted husband of 61 years to his late wife, Eirwen (nee Longhurst), Malcolm was first and foremost a warm and caring family man.  Together Malcolm and Eirwen raised four children: Melville (Mary), Stephen (Gail), Nigel (Debi) and Cathryn (Charlie Ker) and delighted in their grandchildren: Tara (Blake Watkins), Ryan  (Kevin Plourde), Brett (Emma), Angus, Rhys and Owen Ker and great-granddaughter Brynn.

Born in Nottingham, England on June 10, 1924, Malcolm lived a full, varied and accomplished life and will be remembered for his intellect, wit and generous spirit. Serving his community Malcolm was a dedicated teacher and minister. He was passionate about the theatre, competitive bridge, his garden and the Montreal Canadiens. The son of the late Bertha and Harold Wilson, Malcolm leaves an extended family in England, Wales, California and Ontario to whom he remained closely connected throughout his life.

A memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Stratford at 11:00am on Thursday, December 4, 2014, followed by a reception in the parish hall. 

His love has imprinted every aspect of our lives and

will continue to guide and inspire us forever
