Robert (Bob) Samuel Jacobs – Passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Sunday December 14, 2014 at the age of 91 with his family by his side. He was born in Mornington Township on February 22, 1923, son of the late William and Elizabeth (Thorndyke) Jacobs. He leaves behind his beloved wife Elaine (Schneider) whom he married on May 26, 1951. Together they farmed on Concession 16 of Ellice Township for 21 years raising their four children; Brian (Ruth), Dale (Linda), Larry (Debra) and Cathy (Larry Vollmershausen). They then moved to Brunner and finally Stratford in 1991. Bob is adored grandfather of Angie McRobert, Jamie Jacobs (Reg), Rob Jacobs, Paul Jacobs (Erin), Lisa McCann (Ryan), Shelley Innes (Steve), Travis Jacobs (friend Amy), Tiffany Aulis (Mitchell), Leanne Stacey (Josh) and Jenna Erb (friend Bo). He is the proud great grandfather to eleven precious great grandchildren. He is survived by siblings Gladys Zimmerman, Jim (Ruby) Jacobs, Edna (Harold) Braun, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Howard Schade, Joyce Jacobs, Laureen (Clarence) Bast, Donald (Eva) Schneider and Murray Schneider. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters Isabel Reis and Shirley Schade, brother Fred Jacobs, brothers-in-law Lorne Zimmerman and Harry Reis and sister-in-law Norma Schmidt. Bob will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Bob was well known for the miniature horse harnesses he made and wagons he built. He enjoyed working with his hands and spending time with his family. Bob made friends easily and will be remembered by many. Family and friends may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. A private family funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 19, 2014 with the Rev.
