After a courageous battle with cancer, Donald Edward Brooks, age 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2014.He was born in Stratford, Ontario February 24, 1948, son of the late William Brooks and the former Corinne Flanagan. Don worked at Kalbfleisch Bros. Ltd. for 36 years and later at Strickland Auto Sales for the last 9 years. Beloved husband of Patricia Brooks (nee Roulston) whom he married November 7, 1969. Loving father of Chris Brooks and wife Jeannine and Kimberly Campbell and husband Steve. Cherished grandfather of Bryar and Barrett Brooks and Keegan and Paige Campbell. Also survived by a sister Catherine (Bill), Linda, and brother Jack (Laura), and a half sister Mary Beth. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill (Kathie), Doug (Kim), Debbie, Dave (Val), Vicki, Sandy (Mike). Also survived by his mother-in-law Violet Roulston and many nieces and nephews and their families. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law William Roulston, a brother Jerry and grandson Hayden Campbell. Don has now joined his honorary brother, Arnold Merkel (Geraldine) who predeceased him on December 27, 2014. In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) Stratford or Community Care Access Huron-Perth and may be made through the W. G.
