Dale, Douglas Allen

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the age of 85. He was born in Stratford on August 1, 1929. He came to Milverton to play for the Dominion Royals and met his wife of 62 years Helen (Hoffman) Dale of Milverton. He is survived by his children Jim (Marie) of RR# 1 Atwood, Bill (Marilyn) of Milverton, Ken (Mary Helen) of Stratford, Brian of Milverton and Cheryl Dale of London. Much loved grandpa to Erin, Kathy, Amy, Kristy, Bonnie, Lindsey, Joshua, Jeffrey & Shane. The highlight of his later years was his 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents George and Margaret (McEwin) Dale, brothers & sisters-in-law Red & Gladys Dale, Keith & Eleanor Dale, Bruce & Betty Dale, Donald Dale. He is survived by one sister-in-law Audrey Dale.

Doug was the self designated G.M. of the Toronto Blue Jays. He was active over the years in the Milverton community and coached many sports teams. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Tecumseh Chapter R.A.M. #24 and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m.. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11 a.m.. Jeffrey Dale officiating. Interment of ashes in Greenwood Cemetery in the spring.
