Christie, Gwen

Gwen Christie, 88, of Stratford and formerly of Hibbert and Usborne Townships passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, February 9, 2015.

Beloved wife of the late Calvin Christie. Dear mother of Joan Wray and David, Helen Christie, Verna Strathdee and Alex, Jack Christie and Betty Anne and Stan Christie. Lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law of Marion Dearing.

Predeceased by her parents Stanley and Myrtle Hocking, step-mother Marjorie Hocking,  grandson Steven Strathdee, brothers-in-law Roger Christie and Bernice, Murray Christie and Margaret, and Marshall Dearing.

Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, Mitchell on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Lockhart Reception Centre. Memorial donations to Camp Bimini, or charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.  Online condolences at www.LockhartFuneralHome.com.
